Rachel Van Beek, LAC

My undergraduate background is in behavior science from Western Michigan University.
I have both personal and professional experience as a caregiver to individuals with both developmental and/or physical disabilities. This allows me to have a unique understanding for those in similar roles, especially those dealing with caregiver fatigue or those who are related to a disabled family member.
The modalities I find myself using most often are person-centered, CBT, DBT, parts therapy, self-compassion practices, and sandtray

I believe that the therapy experience thrives on a collaborative relationship between the client and the therapist. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, judgement-free zone for clients to work through difficult emotions, process trauma, express their authentic selves, or learn how to navigate the world around them.

Whether you’re dealing with a situational matter or a long-term conflict, I find that we often see connections between our current selves and our past experiences. Together we can work towards gaining insight from these past experiences, challenge current thought and beliefs, and incorporate new skills to help us better cope in the future.

I am passionate about working alongside individuals looking to heal past trauma, navigate a life transition, explore identity, manage anxiety, or cope with relational conflict. With a trauma-informed approach, I encourage clients to lead at their own pace. Growth and healing are unique experiences to each of us—I look forward to discovering what this process looks like for you!
